Walking Football

Walking Football is a variant of football that targets both men and women over 50 years old. It aims to get those who are a bit older, and perhaps have limited mobility and other conditions, to continue playing sport and exercising regularly.

The key difference with Walking Football is the rules. As the name suggests, there is no running in Walking Football and players caught running give away a free kick to the other team. This restriction is aimed at both avoiding injuries and facilitating the playing of the sport by those with limited mobility.

AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust has been successfully running Walking Football sessions since September 2014. We aim for all our Walking Football players to enjoy our sessions, they consist of fun warm up games, sessions adapted to focus on particular skills alongside some fun football activities and we always finish off our sessions by playing a match!

If you are interested in coming along to one of our sessions then head down to the Littledown Centre on a Tuesday morning, 10.30-12.00pm. The session is run outside on one of the astro pitches and is free of charge!
