The Healthy Lifestyles project is aimed at children in years 5 & 6 and its objective is to educate the students on the importance of a healthy diet and lifestyle. The lesson aims to make children aware of the content of the food they eat.

The lesson is based around the five food groups taken from the Eatwell Plate and what the nutrients, minerals and vitamins and their functions within the body. The lesson also covers what a healthy diet should consist of. As well as covering the required amount of exercise needed to remain healthy.

Each lesson lasts an hour, where 45 minutes is classroom based and 15 minutes are fun practical activities. The practical’s consist of tag games and other fun activities to demonstrate how children can exercise in a fun way.
